Strategic Objectives
The DSA applies its resources to lead activities that support the following objectives:
- Develop business/entrepreneur skills required to lead innovation, develop world-class products & services, and build internationally competitive ICT companies.
- Create a recognized market brand that promotes the capabilities of the DSA’s members and related stakeholders. Coordinate, through building awareness, activities that strengthen Alberta’s ICT sector.
- Coordinate industry-specific connector events that introduce and explore business opportunities between members and invited stakeholders.
- Establish relationships with government support agencies and assist member organizations to access services applicable to their organization.
- Facilitate dialogue with funding organizations to 1) improve their understanding of business risks associated with ICT startup companies and 2) to match them with member organizations looking for growth capital.
- Create opportunities where member organizations can participate/partner with research centres wanting to commercialize their intellectual property.
- Maintain a knowledge base of expertise including business development best-practices, examples of success, reference materials, available technologies, market trends, and identified opportunities.
- Work with other associations to leverage their resources and members when coordinating events and developing industry knowledge assets.
- Strengthen Alberta’s economy through efficiencies resulting from applied technology developed by the DSA community.
