Core Principles
The DSA’s primary objective is to facilitate the
innovation/commercialization activities by creating an environment
where member firms, industry stakeholders, and research groups can work
collaboratively to identify and develop new products that address
emerging market opportunities.
- The DSA participates openly with industry, researchers, business
support groups, government, and other associations to build a strong
technology community in Alberta.
- The DSA does not endorse specific technologies developed by its
members. The DSA provides opportunities for its members to market their
products.
- The DSA does not disclose the intellectual property or competitive
secrets of its member organizations. The DSA will not compromise the
competitive balance between member organizations.
- The DSA is a member-based organization that operates as a
not-for-profit organization. It charges fees to offset costs incurred
when providing services to members and other stakeholders.
- The DSA is based in Edmonton but is not restricted to geographical
boundaries. Its objectives include the development of export
opportunities that may involve building resources outside of the
Edmonton, Alberta, and other Canadian jurisdictions.
- The DSA is not a manufacturer.
